<h3>Important Fraud Alert</h3>
<p><strong>PLEASE
READ:</strong></p>
<p>Visa has informed us that a fraud ring in Japan has been
submitting fraudulent requests for authorization on Visa&reg;
Debit card transactions. In some cases, the scammers have
sent multiple requests for authorization within a 60-second
timeframe. This activity has resulted in numerous fraudulent
charges to SCCU members' accounts. </p>
<p>SCCU has decided to immediately take the following action
to protect members:</p>
<ul>
<li> We have issued a "country block" for Japan.
The block is for <strong>Visa Debit Cards only</strong>,
not credit cards, and is effective until further notice.</li>
</ul>
<p>It is possible that transactions being processed on a U.S.
military base may not be blocked if the base uses U.S. clearing.
This means that military members may or may not be negatively
affected by the block.</p>
<p>We apologize for the inconvenience, and appreciate your patience
as we work to resolve this situation.</p>

   If you suspect that any fraudulent activity has been conducted on your card account, please call the Member Service Center, and an SCCU representative will assist you. Calling hours are Monday - Friday, 8 am - 6 pm, and Saturday, 9 am - 1 pm.
