Cancellation of ScoreCard Rewards for SCCU Debit Cards
The ScoreCard Rewards® program was introduced to debit cardholders in May of 2007. However, as use of the rewards among debit cardholders has been extremely low, we will be ending this program for debit cards only effective May 1, 2010.
This program is purchased through an outside vendor, and the low level of participation indicates that continuing this program would not be a wise investment of our members' money. The savings realized by stopping the ScoreCard program for debit cards will be used to ensure the continuation of as many free and reduced-cost checking account services as is possible to provide to our members.
Please note that this change applies to consumer debit cards only. The ScoreCard Rewards program will continue to be available on consumer SCCU Platinum credit cards, as well as on business credit and debit cards at this time.
There are no other changes to the terms of use or benefits associated with your SCCU Visa® debit card.
Please make note of these important dates:
- As of April 30, 2010, no additional ScoreCard points will be earned on debit card purchases.
- Your current earned ScoreCard points balance will remain available for redemption until December 31, 2010. To redeem your points, please visit www.scorecardrewards.com and have your debit card number available when logging on.
- If you are donating to Education Donation through your debit card, these donations will end as of April 30, 2010 also. According to the terms of the Education Donation program, donations generated as of that date will be available for redemption by your recipients until May 31, 2011. Donations generated through registered Platinum credit cards will continue.
- Donations to breast cancer research generated by points earned on SCCU’s Pink debit card will end as of April 30, 2010. Donations generated through Pink Platinum credit cards will continue. Please note that the Pink debit card will continue to function as before for all your purchasing and ATM transaction needs, and you will again receive the Pink card style when your current card expires. You are welcome to change your card style if you no longer wish to carry the Pink card. You can change your style by calling the Member Service Center or when visiting a branch.
NOTE: Please remember that your current earned ScoreCard point balance will remain available for redemption until December 31, 2010. Please visit www.scorecardrewards.com to redeem these points before they expire.
